COPPER (Cu)
Copper, silver and gold are in group 11 of the periodic table, and they share the attributes of high ductility and electrical and themal conductivity. Another attribute that this three metals share is that they are found as a pure metal in nature, making it the first source of metals to be used by humans. Copper is soft, easy to alloy, corrosion resistant, antibacterial, non-magnetic, recyclable, and a catalyst.
That is why it´s applications covers sectors such as electric power, automotive, construction, telecommuncations, machinery, aviation, as well as precision instruments and watches. The red metal´s ductility and low electric resistance has made it the ideal element for conductivity according to the International Annealed Copper Standard (IACS).

APPLICATIONS

Its main use is in the manufacture of electrical conductors. It is also frequently used in the production of electronic devices, motors, generators, transformers, with a presence in the automotive industry, civil construction and in the telephone and computer sectors.
